Picking winners and losers in the economic game can be risky business according to many folks. John McGraw, one of our own residents in Union Township Precinct ‘D’ discusses this point in his 0p-ed written for the Community Journal.
The Union Township Community Improvement Corporation, (UTCIC) which was created in 2010, allows for the promotion of economic activity. According to Mr. McGraw, by allowing competition, companies “will choose to locate in areas where the surrounding population has the economic means to support them.” Union Township can bring in new business without gambling with our taxpayers dollars.
